Our story
About Wattle Vision
Wattle Vision started in a Melbourne kitchen in 2016, with a shoebox of eye supplements and a very frustrated optometrist.
Our founder's mother had been told to start an eye formula. She bought four different bottles from four different chemists. Every one of them led with the same promises on the front, and every one of them hid the actual amounts behind the words proprietary blend on the back. Three of the four left out meso-zeaxanthin entirely — the one carotenoid the human body cannot manufacture for itself, and the one concentrated right at the centre of the macula.
That was the whole problem, and it is still the whole problem. This category sells confidence on the label and cuts corners behind it.
What we decided to do differently
We spent the next two years working with an Australian contract manufacturer and a formulation chemist to build one product properly, rather than a range of products cheaply. The brief was short:
- Lead with lutein at 20mg — double the amount used in the AREDS2 formulation — rather than the smallest quantity that legally lets an ingredient onto the label.
- Include all three macular carotenoids. Lutein and zeaxanthin are the easy ones. Meso-zeaxanthin is the expensive one, and it is the one that gets dropped.
- Declare the carotenoid amounts on the label. No hiding the headline ingredients inside a blend.
- Make it one capsule. If people have to take four a day, they stop by week three.
The result is the 15-in-1 Advanced Eye Formula — the only product we make, and the only one we plan to make.
Made here, tested here
Wattle Vision is formulated and bottled in Australia in a GMP-certified facility. Every batch goes to an independent laboratory for identity, potency and heavy-metal testing before it is released. If you want to see the certificate of analysis for the batch number on your bottle, email us and we will send it — we have never once been asked for one and refused.
We are family run, based in Melbourne, Victoria, and we ship from our own warehouse rather than a third-party fulfilment centre. When something goes wrong with an order, you are emailing the people who packed it.
The guarantee, and why it is 90 days
Macular pigment does not build overnight. Most people notice something between weeks three and six, and the meaningful changes accumulate over months. A 14-day trial on a product like this is marketing, not science.
So we give you 90 days. Take it daily. If your vision does not feel clearer, email support@wattlevision.com and we refund you in full. You do not need to send the bottle back — posting a half-empty bottle across the country helps nobody.
What we will not tell you
We will not tell you this product treats, cures or prevents an eye disease, because that is not something a supplement is permitted to claim in Australia, and because it would not be true. What we will tell you is what is in the capsule, at the amounts declared on the label, and why each ingredient earned its place.
If you have an eye condition or take prescription medication — particularly blood thinners — talk to your doctor or optometrist before starting. We would rather lose a sale than have you skip that conversation.
Why it works
What sets Wattle Vision apart
Most eye supplements look identical on the front of the bottle. The differences that matter are all on the back.
The AREDS2 formulation used 10mg. We use double that, alongside zeaxanthin at the same 2mg the trial used. Lutein is the carotenoid with the most human data behind it, so it is the one we lead with.
Lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin work together across the macula. Most supplements include one or two. Leaving out meso-zeaxanthin is the single most common shortcut in this category.
The carotenoids are fat-soluble, so they sit alongside 100mg of omega-3 rather than in a dry tablet on its own, and 50mg of alpha lipoic acid recycles vitamins C and E once they have been used. Take the capsule with a meal and you get more out of the same dose.
Every batch is third-party tested for identity, potency and purity. We publish the certificate of analysis for any batch on request — just quote the number on your bottle.
